Unit of Scientific Activity

Introduction:

In its constant attempts to encourage, support and reinforce scientific research, in addition to the strategies adopted and implemented in this context, the Faculty of Economics and Administration has decided to continue to hold its Meeting on the Academic Discussion Board due to the enormous success of the event held in the previous years. Thus, a Meeting on the Academic Discussion Board has been prepared by the Faculty of Economics and Administration and it will be into effect during the academic year of 1430-1431 H. The program is organized by the Unit of Scientific Activity at the Vice-Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and it includes a series of panels and discussions in which one or more guest speakers present and discuss their views of the topic under discussion.

 

Participants and Attendees:

The panels and discussions at Meetings on the Academic Discussion Board are introduced by specialized faculty members from the Faculty of Economics and Administration. The panelists are specialized in the topics under discussion. Non-KAU distinguished guests who possess a great deal of expertise are also invited to take part in the discussions. In addition, all faculty members, undergraduate students on both campuses, and graduate students are invited to attend the proceedings of the forum.

 

Venue:

All sessions will be held at the Celebration Hall located on the second floor of the Faculty of Economics Building on the Men’s Campus. The Celebration Hall is connected with the Main Conference Hall on the Women’s Campus by a closed television circuit.

A Forum on the Academic Dialogue

Introduction

In the framework of the efforts of the Faculty of Economics and Administration towards the encouragement and support of the scientific research and the development of its standard, and the strategies adopted and implemented in this filed, and on light of the success which has followed and resulted in holding activities of “Forums on the Academic Dialogue for the previous years”, a new will be held at the Faculty of Economics and Administration for the academic year 1432-1433 AH. The forum will be organized by the Unit of the Scientific Activity at the Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. This programme includes holding forums in which a number of specialists participate on the topics called on. Each of these forums will be led by a faculty member whether S\he of the Faculty of Economics and Administration or other KAU faculties or a specialist from outside KAU. The chairman of the dialogue selects the topic of the discussion, decides its main axes and chooses specialists and experts from outside KAU on condition that their total will be between four to six participants. At the beginning of each dialogue, the chairman of the forum presents a background of each topic and then its axes. After that, speakers exchange dialogue in a definite time. At the end of each session, the chairman closes the event. This programme unlike, the Monthly Academic Forums of the faculty members of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, and other academic forums, for it allows discussions on current issues. Moreover, this programme gives an opportunity for collaboration among academic specializations as well as introduction of the members not only among members of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, but also other KAU faculty members and designated external specialists and experts.

 A number of interested faculty members could participate on the topics that are called on by one of the departments of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, or other KAU faculties. In addition, external specialists and experts are welcomed to talk on the topics. KAU faculty members, male and female post graduate students and concerned guests are invited to participate in the forums.

Time and Venue:

All sessions are held at the Festival Hall, on the second floor, Faculty of Economics and Administration (males). Interested females could also attend the events at the Main Hall, on the ground floor (female section) via a closed television circuit.
