This is an introductory course examining the role of professional managers in
today’s business organizations. Students will explore the functions, concepts,
and skills relevant to modern management practices. The course begins with a
brief historical overview of management thought followed by a comprehensive
discussion of the fundamental principles and theories associated with the four
basic functions of management; i.e., planning, organizing, leading, and
controlling.

This course examines linear, quadratic, exponential and algorithm equations and
their economic and financial applications such as break even analysis ,
univariate differentiation, maxima and minima of a function, functions of
several variables, partial derivatives, unconstrained and constrained
optimization). It also covers topics pertaining to mathematics of finance
(compound interest, present and future value, annuities); matrix algebra
(operations with matrices, determinants, matrix inverse, rank, solutions to
matrix equations); the graphical approach to linear programming; the fundamental
of decision theory and the applications Spreadsheet; and computer programs.

manufacturing and service organizations. It addresses the operations of
organizations from a strategic and operational prospective. It includes the
basic functions of the operation and production systems that lead to the
manufacturing of goods or the providence of services.

concerning these issues impact the wider society. It provides students with an
