About the Department of Public Administration

of the early departments which was established with in the Faculty of Economics & administration , University of King Abdul Aziz in 1991, is also one of the main sources for the provision of high-level cadres of the government administration in different sectors in Saudi Arabia, as it contributed to the graduation of a wide range of specialized personals in public administration. The batch that graduated in 1994 with the first bachelor's degree in public administration is not in the KSA, but in the Middle East.

The Department aims to develop a layer of management is able to meet the challenges of the times and serve the community through the management of general and specialized professional ethics which are derived from Islam and the theoretical and practical development, which depends on the research and practice.

The program of the department of public administration to achieve several objectives , the most important:

• Highlight the originality of Islamic thought in the field of management.

• Provides students with theories and concepts of modern science.

• Attention to the needs of the environment of Saudi Arabia.

• Interest in the applications of modern technology, especially information technology in the management of institutions, whether governmental or private.

• Provide students with some quantitative criteria that may assist in the use of financial resources available to achieve the optimum use of the multiple objectives.

• Management plans linked to curriculum development in Saudi Arabia and the needs of the labor market.

• To establish the concept of public service.

• The development of student thinking and scientific research to study the administrative problems.

• Attention to the practical training of students in all areas available.
